To offer as part of our rapid prototyping service, we are using a Stratasys Mojo 3D printer. However, we do offer our 3D printer to new clients as a standalone printing service.
Our existing client base values durability over other considerations; thus our 3D printer, layer thickness and material choices reflect that.
A couple of wee facts:
- Our printing area 127 x 127 x 127 (mm)
- (Z) Layer thickness is 178 microns (o.178 mm)
- X-Y resolution ~100 microns
- Our printer has a controlled temperature bay, that reduces the number of print failures (and improves the overall quality of print)
When printing with thermoplastics, most 3D printers print using ABS or PLA. We use a material called ABSplus (which is a based on the regular ABS plastic).
We can print in Ivory, White, Black, Dark Grey, Red, Blue, Olive Green , Nectarine and Fluorescent Yellow.
Note – ABS materials are NOT FDA approved. This means they aren’t suitable for for products associated with human consumption. For example, mugs and/or cutlery.
3D model & design
If you’re interested what people are 3D printing, then visit 3D model websites. Websites like Thingiverse allow you to browse and download 3D models that others have created. From there, if you send us the STL files, we can look at printing it for you.
Should you require assistance in developing a 3D model, we can recommend a number of mechanical engineers and designers to help you.
